while searching for inormation about Sarah Louisa Forten, I found that she is not a lost voice but definately a voice that is not heard as often as others. There were two websites on google that both led to a site that shared information about the Society for the Study of American Women Writers. On this website and can view other works creates by Sarah such as a poem called Past Joys, and others. When reading her few poems that were posted i feel like thre is a theme to them. I feel as if the theme is Slavery. not only the term of actual slavery but slavery with racism also. her point comes across well with her pieces. her voice is strong and passionate. The other thing i noticed is i feel as if they have a lot of rhythm with these words and they sound like lyrics and well as poems.
When i looked for web sites of Emma Lazarus there was much more to choose from. There are similarities between this Emma Lazarus and Sarah Louis Forten as writers. They both have some what of a theme in their poetry as well as have strong voices to back their opinions up. Emma writes about anti-semitism and how it has effected her personally and others.
